Mold Restoration and Odor MitigationIf your structure has had water damage, it is very important that a competent and qualified professional dries the structure to curb the risk of mold damage. Water and flood damage can lead to odor, moldy smells, and the growth of fungi and bacteria in your home or business. When left ignored, toxic mold can pose long-term health hazards to you, your family, workers, or customers.
Mold is a microscopic fungi that poses health hazards in both public buildings and private residences. Although all molds are dangerous, several are toxic to humans. Prolonged exposure to their spores may cause structural damage to your property, allergic reactions, asthmatic episodes, or respiratory infections to those with prolonged exposure. Exposure to high spore levels can foster mold-related allergies whose symptoms may include runny nose, watery eyes, nasal congestion, itching, coughing, and headache. Those most vulnerable are children, elderly persons, those with weakened immune systems, and persons with existing respiratory conditions.

Atlas Global Restoration continually reviews the latest in scientific data and mold removal protocols. Our project managers are able to provide an on-site evaluation of your structure and provide you with a recommended course of action for immediate remediation. In most cases, if there is visible mold growth no sampling is needed. However, in specific instances where the source(s) of the mold contamination is unclear, or if there are specific health concerns, you may want to consider sampling. This will require the client to acquire an independent hygienist to sample the materials present and create a protocol. The relationship between the remediator and the hygienist is similar to that of a builder and architect. The hygienist will provide the blueprint to remediate the specific microbial growth present at the site. Surface sampling is helpful both before and after the remediation to verify that the area has been adequately cleaned or remediated. It is a good practice to conduct pre- and post-remediation sampling if hiring a hygienist. This is helpful in determining the types and concentrations of mold in indoor air samples, which should be similar to what is found in the local outdoor air. Atlas Global Restoration stands behind it’s work 100% and will continue your remediation at no additional charge if it is determined that the structure has not been remediated to the standards of the hygienist’s protocol. Atlas Global Restoration can help advise you as you determine if the microbial circumstances of your site could require a hygienist.
Due to our strict code of ethics, Atlas Global Restoration does not take samples or recommend sampling professionals. We offer guidance to our clients, which can help them find an independent hygienist of their choosing.
When conducting mold remediation, Atlas Global Restoration relies on the experience and training of the region’s top resources to guarantee the exemplary results that our clients have come to expect. We put up containment barriers around the affected areas and utilize negative air scrubbing technology with HEPA filtration systems, which remove all air-borne spores that may decontaminate the atmosphere with microbial infestation. Any contaminants in the area of infestation will be cleaned and decontaminated if possible. Any salvageable contents will be tagged, packed, photographed, and stored in our warehouse as the mold remediation is completed. Atlas Global Restoration will remove, contain, and dispose of all contaminated structural components including flooring and sub-flooring, wood, drop ceilings, insulation, drywall, and other materials. Ice blasting and sanding are the abrasive media we commonly use in removing mold. The HVAC system of your facility will be cleaned and an anti-microbial applied to its interior surface. Atlas Global Restoration then employs hydroxyl generator and thermal fogging technology to remove any remaining odor before we complete a disinfection of the premises. |
